Around The World & Back

To say that this past two weeks of my life have been buys is an extreme understatement.  It could have possibly been the busiest weeks of my life.  Alot of the weeks were spent in the car...yes, sitting in my much hated car seat.  Myself and the car seat have a love/hate relationship.  As long as I don't have to spend more than an hour in the car seat, I like it!

So, on Monday, April 25th Mom, Dad, and I loaded up the car and drove about seven hours and then crashed (not literally) in Valdosta, Georgia for the night.  Just in case you've never been stuck in a car seat for seven hours, let me just tell you, it is waaaaaaaaaayyyy too long to be stuck in one!  Fortunately for Daddy, our driver, we were able to sleep in a little bit and then head on to Orlando, our final destination. Once we were there, checked in to our hotel, and I was able to catch a nap; we were able to catch up with my friends Mr. Rick and Mrs. Carol.  The came to Orlando and went to dinner with us, and then we even went and had some ice cream for dessert.  Overall it was a great night and I'm so thankful I was able to see Mr. Rick and Mrs. Carol!  Not only did I see the Siboni's but I was also able to see Uncle Greg and Aunt Denise the next few days.  Orlando was great, but brutally hot for this cold weather kid!   On Thursday afternoon we packed our car up and headed back North to Grammy and Pop-Pop's house.  It was a great night but a late night with Grammy and Pop-Pop, and I was able to show them some of my favorite new things I'm up to, as well as play with some of the cool blocks that were at their house.  I spent Friday with all of the family, saying goodbye and celebrating Mommy's 21st Birthday;)  After leaving we were on our way back North to stay somewhere in between Florida and Tennessee.  We ended up North of Atlanta at 4:30am for the night.

The next day, we woke up about mid-day and Mom received  bad phone call.  It was my Grandma calling and saying that my Great Grandfather had passed away.  After Mom talked to Grandma, we knew that we had to go back to Tennessee for the weekend and then go to North Carolina for my Great Grandfather's funeral.  The whole weekend was a blur, and yes, we did get back in the car and get on our way to North Carolina.  To make a long story short, it was great to see my family in North Carolina, but certainly not under the circumstances.  I spent alot of time with Grandma and Grandaddy Asby and we played outside on the swing alot.

I will not bore you anymore with my stories of all of my travels, but I did think that I owed my faithful blog readers an explanation of where I have been.  There you have it, I've been around the world and back....or so it feels that way!  Thanks for checking back, and I will get back into the swing of blogging now that I am home!

Love You All!

Friends, Family & Launch Sunday

First of all, I must apologize for the drought in blogging.  I have been one busy guy, and all the busyness has not let up in several weeks.  Believe me, I love keeping everyone in the loop, but sometimes it's just hard.  But, now that we are here, let me just give you the inside scoop on the last 5 days of my life.

It all started on Thursday when I was anticipating the arrival of some of my Florida friends and family.  A group of them came to town to help with some outreach, and serve alongside the team at the official launch of Grace Church!  They arrived on Thursday, and not only was it great to see them, but it was also great to share some Frozen yogurt with them at Sweet CiCis.  After catching up and saying "hello" to everyone, they headed to get some rest and I came home and went to bed as well.  I woke up on Friday morning and Mom, Dad and I went downtown to the Nashville Farmers Market to have lunch with the group. We were also able to catch up our friend Jeremy.  Jeremy pastors the Axis church downtown Nashville. Myself along with some of the other kids on the trip were able to "test drive" Pastor Jeremy's nursery at his church....we loved it!
It was kind of a nasty day because of rain, but we made the best of it.  Saturday was filled with making some final purchases for the Grace Church cafe, hanging with Mommy and Aunt Denise, attending the evening service at Longhollow, and eating a nice dinner with all of group.
Mom and Aunt Denise, of course, wanted Mexican food, so I protested in the booth!  I just can't handle Mexican...kinda like my Daddy.
So, Sunday was the big day!  Daddy was out and about, getting it done at the Regal Cinema at Indian Lakes, where Grace Church meets. It was a great day with lots of great people helping, including my friends from Florida. They made all the children very happy, especially me, in the nursery. After a great day at church, we went out for a little lunch and then had to bid our friends good-bye and a safe trip home.

When I came home, I crashed. As a matter of fact, I am still catching up on some sleep. I better run, there's still work to be done, and I've gotta get a nap too!

In the Driver's Seat

Life has been extremely busy over the last couple of weeks.  The weather was super nice last week and I was able to go outside and stroll, run, and kick the soccer ball around a little bit!  I love the beautiful weather and the outdoors....there's nothing like it. But, after about a week of beautiful weather, the cold decided to move back in.  I can't really decide if I think Spring is here or not...pretty confusing.

Last week I went and met some friends who have come to my church and they had a big bus they let me drive.  I loved sitting in the drivers seat and driving that big "baby." They were great people and I look forward to seeing them again.

Today, I had another experience that rev'd my motor a little more.  Myself, along with all of my parents Life Group took lunch to one of the local fire departments.  They immediately took me out to the bay area where all the trucks were.  It was awesome, and guess who the driver was....me!  I saw the lights and heard the siren (which wasn't my favorite).  I will definitely take them lunch again as long as they will let me drive the truck.
As you can see Capt. George hooked me up with the drivers seat.

I even had the chance to check out their heavy duty gear that they wear in a fire.  It was some pretty awesome stuff.  When I left they gave me a fireman hat of my own, and thank goodness it wasn't as heavy as there's!

I had better run.  I'll talk to you soon!  Have a great weekend, and should you need a firefighter just give me a shout.

I'm A BIG Kid Now

I've had alot going on in my house over the last week.  It was a week of much, much celebration and activity in the Peters house.  I love these busy weeks, and I always love a good celebration, especially with some of my favorite people.
First of all, on Thursday morning my Grandma flew in very early.  She came to visit and join in on the big party!  We spent the day on Thursday doing alot of shopping.  Now, I'm not much of a shopper anymore, however if there's an escalator involved, I'm all about it.  I love riding the escalator, and as a matter of fact, it is my favorite mall activity.  Plus, I always score when I go shopping with Grandma, because she gets me great stuff! That's what Grandmas do, right??
Secondly, we celebrated my parents anniversary on Friday.  FYI- Mom gave Dad some sneaks that I reeeeaaaaaly liked!
Dad took Mom to this place called the Grand Ole Opry (kinda sounds like an old folks hang out to me).  Grandma and I stayed home and played really hard while Mom and Dad celebrated a quiet night out.  I'm not sure why I wasn't invited?!  They had a great time and so did Grandma and I!
Thirdly, Saturday brought the grandest of all celebrations. It was my birthday!  I turned two on Saturday and my day started out with many presents.  I had presents from so many people, and had a great time opening them, but I saved some to open on Saturday night.  I went to church that night and then went to my favorite place to eat....Chick-fil-a!  I love their indoor playground, and I am one tough cookie going down that big slide.  After playing, I came home and had some cake, opened more presents, and played, played, played.  I ended the night with some skyping with Grammy and Pop-Pop, and then Aunt Lisa and Uncle Chris. It was a great birthday and I'm so thankful for the two happy years of life I have experienced so far.  I received many cards and just want to say a huge "Thank You" to everyone who thought of me on my big day!

Thanks again for all the love on my BIG day!
