Is the Thanksgiving/Christmas Season Always This Busy?

Well, it has been a very long time since my last post. Now I'd like to say that I feel like I've travelled the world over the past month, but the truth is that we went on a road trip to Florida. It was a long car ride, but it went well thanks to my DVD player!

So, let me show you what the last month has been like....

We loaded up the car and headed south to FL for Thanksgiving! It was cold when we left here so I was bundled up and ready to go. With the shades on too....:)

But I almost forgot, we put up the Christmas tree before leaving town. Let me tell ya, I was a big help. Mommy couldn't have done it without me!

Back to our road trip! As you see, I am quite content! My DVD player and a cool hat from Burger King. There was a ton of fast food stops on this trip. BTW, everyone loved my hat. I wore it for two days straight. Didn't have to fix my hair!

When we got back to TN, it was time to hit the ground running on Christmas shopping! I gave a list to my mommy of all the stores I needed to hit up. One of the first was K-Mart. As you can see, I had some help shopping while there. These guys were great. I loved hanging aroung them.

They didn't want me to leave. Or was it I didn't want to leave? Someone ending up crying.....?

Well, as you can see, I got my shades on and my flashlight out searching for good Christmas bargains. I'll let you know how that turns out. You may be the recipient of one of the gifts.

I gotta run now. I need to lay this ole' body down for a nap. Then it is out and about with my parents!

Have fun in this Christmas season! I am!

Fall Fun

So much has happened since I last checked in here at my blog.  It has been a busy fall and I've loved every minute of it.  Lately I've had the opportunity to move into a new house, go to Shuckles Corn Maze, go trick-or-treating with friends, and have some of my family come and visit from NC....  shhhhheeewww!  I'm tired just telling you all that has been going on.

Let me start with my new home...I absolutely love my new room and also my new bonus room!  It's awesome and I love having my own space.

Secondly, my family went to Shuckles Corn Maze along with many families from Grace Church...my church!  While at Shuckles we went down several huge slides, climbed up some huge piles of hay, took a little hay ride, and ate s'mores around the campfire.  It was a great night and man was it cold!!  Of course, while Mom and I were eating s'mores Dad had himself a funnel cake:)
Next, Mom, Dad, and I went to a nice neighborhood in our town on Halloween night and went trick-or-treating with our friends.  I went over to my friend Canon's house and had dinner with him and we teamed up for a great night filled with lots and lots of candy!!  As you will see in my pictures, I was Woody from Toy Story.  It was a great night!
Lastly, I had my Uncle Quentin, Aunt Lori, and cousins Alan and Bryce in town for a few days last week.  We had a blast while they were here!  We did a whole lot of eating and sight seeing and it was fun.
I've had a great couple of weeks!  Glad you checked by and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Happy (early) Thanksgiving,
Davis

The Most Busy Week..

You would never guess all that has gone on in my world since the last time we talked.  Let me just begin by saying that there are lots of new things and they are all good!  I'm a thankful little boy!

For starters, Grammy, Pop-pop, Aunt Lisa, and Logan came to Hendersonville this past weekend.  Logan and I had a sleep-over and he was such a great "partner in crime."  Needless to say, we are already tight buddies!
Aunt Lisa and Logan had to leave on Monday evening. I was very sad that my buddy had to leave but I realize he has a household to run just like me:)  We had a great time and I hope he comes back real soon.

Secondly, my family and I began to move out of our apartment on Wednesday of last week.  The moving was a slow process until Friday rolled around and then it was like a hurricane came through and picked up everything and moved it!  The hurricane's name was Daddy (a.k.a. Barry):)  Daddy is such a mover and a shaker and he really knows how to get things done.  Daddy had help from lots of great friends and I'm thankful they were willing to pitch in.
I will show you some more pictures of my new room in the blog posts to come.  All I can say is my new "crib" is absolutely awesome and I'm diggin' it.  I also have a bonus room that I've claimed as my own as well.  All of my toys are in the bonus room so that's where I spend alot of my time.

In the midst of the wild move, I was able to find time to go the the Grace Church Pumpkin Festival.  It was a real blast!  The weather was beautiful, and I was able to enjoy the inflatables, pumpkins, and the choo-choo train at Barnes & Noble.  It was an all around great event.
I look forward to slowing down a little in the next few weeks.  I will be doing alot of sleeping, and trick-or-treating, and preparing my little tummy for Thanksgiving!  Hope you are doing well, and please check back soon for an update!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Planking And More

Me and my daddy are always goofing around. So the other day mommy caught us doing the hip new fad on the internet... planking.  It was fun and exciting as is just about everything around my house!

Speaking of exciting... there's gonna be a lot happening over the new month in my life.  Here's where it begins... First, our church is growing so we are going to 2 services this Sunday. (Twice the time with my friends:). Second, we are going to see my Grandparents in NC on Sunday, October 9 for a few days (daddy is staying home to work). Then when we get back, my Aunt Lisa, cousin Logan, and Grammy and Pop-pop are coming up here for a week.  Gonna be fun.

And finally, the biggest news of all, we are moving out of this nightmare called an apartment. Let me tell you, it can't come soon enough.  For the last 11 months, I have endured the Barnum and Bailey Circus living above my bedroom.  So with great enthusiasm, we are moving into a house!  I can't wait.  Actually, I can because the room I am moving into is purple with girly wall paper so I will wait until Pop-pop makes it look better.

Here's my upcoming new pad...

And my purple bedroom:)

I hope to keep up with you.  Everything is grand here in TN. It is Family Friday (daddy's day off:) so we are headed out to find something to do for little or no cost:)

Love y'all,
Davis

Tickle Me Elmo!

Friday is all about fun around our place (actually, what day really isn't in my life?).  So I dragged dad out of bed and took him and mom to Murfreesboro to see my all time favorite friend Elmo.  Yep, I was going to meet Elmo live and in person.

And let me tell ya, I wasn't let down!  He was awesome.  I was able to spend about 30 minutes hanging out with him.  Yes, there were some other kids around, but Elmo paid all of his attention to me...

I decided to share him with some friends and the lady read us all an Elmo story.

This was one incredible day.

After I said goodbye to Elmo (that was a little sad), we decided to go for a stroll.  While strolling, I met some new friends... only problem was... they didn't have much to say.

I even tried to get them to giggle by squeezing their nose.

And I also found that they don't like to share so I decided to try to grab their basketball... didn't work!

Oh well, it was a great day in the 'Boro.  And it was another great Friday.

Hope you are well. Come and see me soon if you can. Maybe we could go and see Elmo!

These Days ...

So, lately things have been a little busy.  I started school, as you know, and I love it!  My Grandparents from North Carolina were in town for a few days this week.  I love seeing them and playing alot with them.  It was a little rainy most of the time they were here, but the last day we were able to go downtown, walk around, go boot shopping, and pick up a little dessert!  Grandma always goes shopping for me and man do I love that!!  Prior to Grandma and Grandaddy coming in town, Mom and I took our first trip to the library.  I loved the library because a whole room was just for kids... like me!  They also had a gorilla there on a couch that I really liked, and a choo-choo train as well!

Well, that's all for me...I think.  It's been a great week and I hope the weekend is just as great!  Hope your weekend is great as well!

School Days

Mom and Dad recently asked me if I would like to attend school, and, of course, I responded with the great answer of, "Are you crazy?"  No, not really.  I have been very excited about having the opportunity to attend a Moms Day Out program that is one day a week.  There are many other two year olds there and I have already made a lot of friends.... in just one day!
Once I was told about school, I decided to do some of my own personal preparation for the big day.  I took some books out and began to brush up on my reading skills.
After brushing up on my reading skills, making sure I had a nice Thomas the Train backpack, and a nice lunch box, I was officially ready for the big day.  Once we arrived at school, I took the elevator up to my room.  Oh and by the way, I love pushing elevator buttons!!
Overall it was a great day.  I enjoyed painting, playing on the playground, and snack time.  I look forward to enjoying it again next week.

Thanks for checking by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Playing, Singing, and Cheering

Just in case you were wondering, I am a serious guitarist.  I love to play and sing along with my musical guitar.  At the end of every good performance there must be some loud cheering, so just join in cheering as you watch me jam out.

Oh and FYI, please keep Dad and me in mind as Mom is going out of town on a women's retreat for about 36 hours.  I'm thinking this home may never be the same!

Have a great weekend!

A Veggie Tales Celebration

This week has been a busy week.  I have had a whole lot of fun with my family and friends.  Thursday night I was able to join some of my Grace Church friends out for music at the Streets and then Friday I enjoyed a morning at Bass Pro Shop and an afternoon on the lake.  By the way, while at Bass Pro, I was able to check out some prospective Christmas presents and also wave at the big fish in the aquarium.  I love that store!

If you know me at all, you know that I absolutely love Veggie Tales.  My friend Christine is the local Lifeway Bookstore manager and so she told me that they were going to be celebrating the release of the new Veggie movie on Saturday.  Yes, I was invited to celebrate the release, along with all the kids in Hendersonville!  I was able to make some fun things with balloons, color my name on a star, and I got myself a freeze pop as I left.  It was a great celebration and there were many kids there to share it with.
Just think, this is only the beginning of the weekend.  I can't wait to see the end of the weekend holds!
Bye, for now, and I hope you have a great weekend!

It's Potty Time

Over the last week I have been faithful at sitting on the potty.  I'm trying really hard to get a grip on this whole "using the potty" thing.  It doesn't really make sense to me, seeing as I can just "go" in my diaper and it's not a problem at all;)  It doesn't really bother me to sit on the potty though because I get an M&M every time I do....seems like a pretty good deal to me.  I haven't actually used the bathroom in the potty yet, well.....because I don't see the point in it, just like I said earlier.  Here is Mom's attempt at getting me to "go"...

Hope you have a good week, and I'll continue sitting on the potty!

Summer Fun

I came home from vacation just over a week ago, so it's been hard work getting back into my regular routine.  I guess that's really the only hard thing about vacation, for me, is getting back on schedule after all the fun is had on vacation.  So, after a week of hard work, and a weekend of busyness, I decided to have a little fun in the water.  Me and my buddy Canon had a great time playing in the water on Monday morning.  We beat almost ever other kid in Hendersonville to the fountains on Monday morning and wow, did we ever have a great time!?!?!!  It was aweome!  I had my trucks, Canon brought some cups, and the water was waiting for us.

If you ever come visit, I will certainly take you to the fountains....if it's warm enough for that kinda fun.  Hope you have a great week!

Summer Vacation

I just wanted to give everyone a quick run down of my wonderful vacation I just came home from.  So, here goes...
My whole family left this past Monday and we were going to Pigeon Forge, TN.  We were meeting my cousin Seth, Aunt Denise, and Uncle Greg at a log cabin that we were to stay in for the week.  We arrived late in the afternoon and ate supper in on Monday night.  Tuesday morning we headed out for an awesome, scenic drive through Cades Cove.  On our way there we stopped off and hiked up to Laurel Falls.  The highlight of the day was probably seeing several deer and then a mama bear with several of her cubs.

The remainder of the week included trips to Dollywood and Splash Country.  I loved Dollywood for many reasons, but the main reason is that they have a choo choo train.  I was able to ride the carousel and then the choo choo train, and believe it or not, the train ride put me to sleep.  I'm so thankful Daddy was willing to be my recliner for the ride!

We also walked down the tourist strip in Gatlinburg.  There were several bluegrass bands and other musicians playing outside near all the shops.  I love live music so that made our little walk very entertaining for me.
I also played my first round of mini golf, and let me tell you it was one fine round I played!  The other Davis (Davis Love III) has nothing on me when it comes to golf!

And, yes, I did allow Daddy to help me....just to make him feel good ;) It was a blast

Another thing that I really enjoyed on vacation was going in the "big boy" pool at Splash Country.  I had a great time and I even went down the water slide.

Overall, it was a great vacation and I had a great time with my cousin Seth.  I was really worn out at the end of the week, so I took a little siesta while Mom and Dad worked on getting us back home safely!

I've gotta run now and help Mom do some laundry.  Do me a favor and if you haven't had a summer vacation, please take one!

Love,
Davis
