My First Mission Trip

Last Wednesday, me, my mommy & daddy, and 6 Overflo students headed out for a week long mission trip to Nashville, Tennessee.  We came up here to help with a friend who is planting a church.  They needed some help because they just bought their first building in downtown.

We drove to Atlanta on Wednesday then finished out the trip to Nashville on Thursday.  Once we arrived, we checked into the hotel then went into downtown to see all the sites.  It was a lot of fun!

On Friday, daddy and the students headed out for a work day so me and my mommy stayed at the hotel....

I needed some major sleep after that long trip from Palm Coast. I think it took about 12 hours.

Over the next few days, I got to spend a lot of one on one time with my mommy.  We hung out, slept, shopped, and enjoyed laying out by the hotel pool....

On Sunday, we got to go to our friend's church.  That was fun but was very hot...like 90 degrees inside their meeting place.  Good thing was my kid's room was cool with A/C.

After a long couple of days, the students were treated to an awesome pool party. This was hosted by some friend's of Jeremy, the church planter.  Their house was beautiful!  I snuck out and took a couple of photos of their house....

They even had an outdoor chess set that was as tall as me! It was really neat!

Once again, I got to swim with my mommy....

And hang out by the pool...

Now, we are getting ready to go nite-nite.  Headed to Atlanta in the morning.... going to a Braves game!

Out & About

Been a pretty busy week or so, but there's still time set aside for my mommy and daddy! Here's a picture from a recent walk that mommy and me went on! We discovered something new that I now really love...

Nothing better than a swing at the park.  I've already asked daddy for one at the house!

Then tonight, me, mommy, and daddy went to the beach for an evening stroll. Yep, in my stroller.  We decided to go real far and guess what?  We walked past Sally's ice cream.  So I asked to stop.  And then it was snack time...  I waited patiently for something good...

And here's what I got!  Well worth the wait!

Nothing better in the world than a good ice cream cone on a hot evening at the beach!

Well, gotta jump in the tub now.  Then it's packing time for my trip to Nashville, Tennessee tomorrow.  I'll tell ya more about it later.

Bye,
Davis

Lots of Memories on Memorial Day

Today is a big day for my country!  It's Memorial Day!  Thanks to all those who served to protect my freedoms!

And since it was Memorial Day, we decided to make some memories.  So we headed to Grammy and Pop-pop's house for a family picnic with them and Uncle Greg, Aunt Denise, and Seth. Oh yeah, my great grandmother, Mom-mom was there too.  I heard she dropped the cake in the driveway.  She told us that after Grammy ate some!

Anyways, here's me sportin' the cool summer look!

Then it was time for my first experience in Pop-pop's pool!  It was very chilly 'cause of the rain so I was a little scared!  Although, Pop-pop took good care of me

I didn't last long in there the first time, but then decided I wanted to go back in!  It was a lot of fun!
Nice farmer's tan, dad :)

After lots of macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and cupcakes, we hung out for awhile and played!  Nothing like family get togthers.  Now it is getting late so me and daddy are chillin' on the couch after a long day! And of course, gettin' my snack too...

Well, hope you had a great day!  I did!

Talk to ya later in the week,
Davis Anderson

The Yankee Trip Part 2

After the adventure in Baltimore, we headed to Daddy's home state of Delaware.  We got to stay at my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Chris' house.  It was very nice, with a lot of fun stuff to get my hands on!

Speaking of places to stay, we stopped by the house where my daddy grew up!  Here's grammy and pop-pop's house that they raised daddy from the mid 70's to the late 80's.  Here's what is neat... see the tree in the background to the left? Daddy planted that when he was 10. It was 8 feet tall then... wow!

As we were in and around Daddy's hometown, he took me and mommy on a tour of all his favs!  We even went to Daddy's favorite hang out as a teenager.  Yep, the Dog House.  And yes, it was that good! Nothing better than a fried hot dog.  Don't knock it till you try it!

Not only did we get to hang out with Aunt Lisa and Uncle Chris at their house in Newark, DE, they also joined us for 3 days as we headed to my (great) Aunt Carol (grammy's sister) and Uncle Lee's place on the beach in Fenwick Island, DE.  While there, we all went to the boardwalk in Ocean City, MD (which was only 15 minutes from DE).  Someone walked by with a funnel cake, so that's why I am not looking at the camera like L & C.

And ohhh, the food up on the boardwalk...wow! And yes, Aunt Lisa got her favorite thing too...

Then the games began... We had a skeeball challenge! Lots of fun! Aunt Lisa rocked it...

We had a great time hanging out with UL & AC.  They were great hosts.  Uncle Lee kept me busy!  Lots of giggles...

Now our time was running out in DE, so it was time to get ready to go back to NC for a few days... Mommy was all smiles to see some family in NC...

But before we left, we ate one more time with UC & AL.  Now let me be honest... all we did was eat, eat, and more eatin'...

And here's my mommy and daddy after just finishing up a great lunch and getting to drive the 5 hours to NC!

Once we got to NC, it was non-stop once again!  And this time, I called the shots.  I wanted to stop by Uncle Quentin's piano store and "tickle the ivories".  That was fun!  I'm a natural...

Of course, I ruled the house around granddaddy's and grandma's!  I even found a cool ride...

And the final night in NC, I invited all the cousins over for some hang out time!  Uncle Q grilled some burgers.  Great times. Here's me with cousin Tim!  Cool guy... I think the family is hoping I rub off on him 'cause I need another cousin...

Well, the 11 day trip had to come to an end!  So we packed up the car one last time and drove the 9 hours back to Palm Coast.  All in all the trip was great.  And I must say, I was great on this trip.  Yep, 2500 miles in the car, 11 days and 10 nights away from home, fast food (alot), and lots of family... I was perfect!

Now back to reality...

The Yankee Trip Part 1

So my mommy and daddy (mostly daddy) have been planning this 11 day trip up to Delaware.  Daddy wanted me to see his ole' stomping grounds.  He was born there and lived there until he went off to college in FL in 1991.  Mommy has only been there once, about 3 years ago, for only a couple days when my great grandma passed away.  So off we headed as soon as church was over on Mother's Day.

We drove up to grandma and granddaddy's in Greenville, NC.  FYI...I have been excellent in the car lately.  We just stayed over night, but got spoiled only in that short amount of time.  Then we got up on Monday and drove to Washington DC.  The weather was cool but awesome. They showed me the Capitol.  That was huge!

Then we headed over to the White House. Pretty big pad!
Here's me and my mommy...

After a day there, we drove a lil' up the road to Baltimore and spent the night...

We expected to do a lot more around there, but the weather took a turn for the worse.  Matter of fact, we went to the Orioles game and it got down to 45 degrees and rainy so we sat in the restaurant at the stadium and watch it on TV.

Well, now we're heading to Delaware to spend the next 5 days with my daddy's family.  I'll post some more pics soon....

Enjoying the vacation,
Davis

I Need a Vacation!

This week has been so busy!  I have been working (and playing) very hard.  So after a long day, I just decided to go to bed on the floor... all while playing with my toys. Matter of fact, I am not even sure how I got into bed that night!
Because I've been so busy, I've decided to take mommy and daddy on vacation tomorrow (Sunday).  I can't wait.  I've got lots and lots planned. Here's some of the agenda...
-Heading to Grandma's in NC on Sunday
-Getting up and driving to DC on Monday. Think we might have a talk with Obama!
-Staying Mon night in Baltimore. All day Tuesday there.
-Orioles game with us and my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Chris on Tuesday night.
-Staying with them at their home in DE on Wed, Thur, Fri.
-Then we're all heading to my Great Aunt Carol's place on the DE beach on Fri, Sat, Sun.
-Driving south on Mon back to Grandma's in NC.
-Leaving Wed to head back to Palm Coast.

Sounds fun doesn't it?  Well, it's gonna be a lot of car time. But, I'm looking forward to seeing a ton of family over the 11 days!

I'll keep ya posted!

Disney Days

What a great week it has been so far.  Sunday was a busy day, but nice because I was able to catch a morning nap in the nursery, which is a rarity.  I felt like a champ when I woke up!  Mommy and I left Daddy at church and we headed home and had lunch.  The afternoon was great because Aunt Lisa, Grammy, and Pop-pop came over to visit with me before Aunt Lisa went back to Delaware on Monday.  They are alot of fun.  I was able to tickle Aunt Lisa's feet and Pop-pop was tickling me. . . needless to say, we were all laughing.  It was a great visit!

Daddy and Mommy suprised me when Daddy came home and we left, headed to Orlando for the night.  I liked the hotel we stayed in because I could check out all of Orlando from the air conditioning unit in my room, on the 11th floor.

I slept in on Monday and then the big day began.  I ate a big breakfast and we were on our way to DISNEY, actually Hollywood Studios.  Daddy had some "all park access tickets" for us.  We started at Hollywood Studios and ended up at the Magic Kingdom.

I rode the teacups and they were pretty awesome, and I was also able to see the "block party" parade.  I think my favorite thing may have been a High School Musical show that was outside.  I had a front row seat to that show, and it was very high energy; lots of singing and dancing.  I also enjoyed watching the big train
go by.

Before the day was over I just passed out for a snooze in my stroller.  I was really tired and could not help myself.

It was definately a great day, and I look forward to going back to Disney one day.  Needless to say, the remainder of my week was pretty boring compared to Monday at Disney.  Well, hope you had a great week and I look forward to the weekend ahead.

So long for now,
Davis
